I have owned a Saeco Aroma for about 6 months now, went through normal cleaning about 6 weeks ago, then for about the last 3 weeks, any coffee I make in there (from my usual reliable sources for grinding, same brands, same names) are tasting bitter.

How could this explain ?

Must say that this is since I got *one* shot of badly grinded coffee (which appeared to jam the machine that time - but I never tried this coffee even just a second time).

Freshness of the beans nor time since it was grinded are definitely not in question here.

Anyone ever experienced this ?

Thanks

Rob

Has the weather changed?

As the weather becomes WETTER for us folks in the NorthWest and Colder and Drier for you folks everywhere else, the SAME grind no longer works...

The results: Over or under extracted shots and bad taste.

This is an argument for having your own grinder!

Well, based in Montreal - indeed the weather had changed... But in teh house, everything remains the same - may be a bit dryer (heating), but how would this affect a coffee just freshly grinded today at a reliable place, the very first time I am drinking a shot?

As I can't afford (yet) a *serious* grinder, I'm still having this 'outsourced'...

But how would this change things to have my own?

Is this explanation for bad (and I mean *very bad*) taste, the only one ? I was told about grease removal - a maintenance I have not yet tried. Could this make sense ?

Thanks again,
Rob
