Single cup from a Bunn NHBX? was created by Zed
Hello all - my first post. First I read the Forum Rules and I must stay.....I love them (it?!).

I received a brewer as a Christmas present - it is the same one that Tim Horton's is selling branded as their own. It makes good coffee and I'm happy with it....as long as you're brewing at least a half pot or more.

The machine's claims (among others) are that it keeps the water at the correct temperature and that it makes a full pot in 3 minutes. The problem is that the water moves through the filter so fast that making a single cup requires a disproportionate amount of coffee be put in the filter.

I've heard rumor that there is a different orifice can be put into the machine but have been unable to find anything further on that.

Any advice? (or do I just get out my old Bodum press?)

Making a single cup from one of these units is not practical -- there are few, if any, 40 fluid ounce brewers that will do 1 cup very well.
My OCS-8 Newco thermal carafe brewer is an awesome tank and has been running non-stop for almost 5 years. I have never attempted a single cup. Would be worth a try.

When I want small doses, I do the right thing:

French press!
