ascaso grinder? rancilio grinder was created by new_barista
i'm finally looking for an espresso/cappuccino latte grinder. i went to about the only coffee place here that sells grinders and espresso machines of some quality. he showed me the rancilio grinder but $400+ is beyond my budget. then he showed me an ascaso conical/hopper grinder at 249.00. is it worth the money or should i go for a better product which i hope some one will suggest? i've read the article on your site about grinders and have questions now to ask my dealer but your opinion would help.
thanks in advance.

Your local vendor is Morala Trading?

Uhm - pay in U.S. dollars only?
Uhm - there are Canadian websites that sell stuff... the internet is not entirely located in the U.S.A. - pinch:
though not a big fan of... there is Greenbeanery.ca you might want to have a look at...:

yup that's where i went as they do the work on my espresso machine a family faema which i inherited about ten years ago.what do u think of the ascaso grinder? the man there showed me and tested a ranchillio it worked fine on my machine (i had brought it in) but is it worth the extra money. i saw it certainly had more gringing settings but what about the rest of it.
thanks for ur help so far. i do know there are cdn sites as i'm a webmaster but i'm thinking of warranty's and shipping etc.

The Rancilio is very well built - and it grinds over the entire range.
The Ascasco is an espresso grinder - dedicated to that and that alone - It is very good.
The Rancilio Rocky is the prefered grinder for the all-mode fan of specialty coffee - that is, it is the one grinder that does it all.

Other grinders, like the Baratza Virtuoso also do the entire range.

That is the issue. Do you want a dedicated espresso grinder or a grinder that can handle turkish coffee through French press and everything in between?
