Actually, the reason I am starting to think that is because during the texturing stage I tend to get a few large bubbles that I have to get rid of later. I think that perhaps if I dial it down a notch I might get finer foam.
I was getting larger bubbles at half steam on too, managing now to keep the bubbles size down finer consistency to that paint texture as in the instruction manual...(most times)
Our problem is my wife like lots of light foam as a cappuccino ( japanese style) while I like a flat white (with no foam).
I texture milk and then at then while turning the steam off, create the milk foam, I pour her milk & foam first, and I am left with just the textured milk.
the difference between lots of large bubbles and not is only 1-2mm of the wand outlet position. I focus on keeping he jug level and still, lowering as the milk level rises, keeping the sucking sound and swirling motion.
I have most problems with less milk for 1 coffee, getting good texture and heat without the bubbles than texturing for 2 coffees. (cold level about 8mm below spout)
