How about sharing some of your loot with a lowly little newby coffee drinker with not a lot of access to good coffee (other than at home, and only when the grocery store gets a fresh supply of Oso Negro beans - which is not very often)?

I read with envy and fascination your reviews of great coffee shops in Victoria - and thank my lucky stars for my new-ish Vtech Uno (the one that sprung a leak, and which is going for repairs to espressotec this week on my way to your fair city - which I wrote briefly about in my introduction in the newby forum :-).

If that doesn't tickle your fancy and make you want to part ways with some of your freebies, I have a great charity that could use a donation/silent auction contribution. I am part of the Cops for Kids Charity, which raises funds throughout the year for sick children in the southeast district, and culminates in a 10 day, 1000 km bike ride ( www.copsforkids.org ). You are currently 'chatting' with the reigning "Queen of the Hill".

I will be in Victoria on thursday - and hitting up some of your afore-mentioned cafe's. Good luck with giving away your swag :-)

Just so everyone is in the know: The grand prize

Is a brand new OTTO espresso maker.

No. I am not kidding. It is a $600 value... and I am thinking maybe an auction for charity might be in order here. :cheer:

Hey there! Thanks for the great offer (my heart lies with some espresso cups:-)

As for the charity, I hope you have had a chance to check out the website. In my community alone (Kimberley, population 7500) we were able to give $15,000 to three families with sick children. The 1,000 km bike ride was peanuts (the Blueberry-Paulson and Anarchist summits included) compared to what these families and their children face. I have attached a photo from the ride last year (that's me in front). Any donations would be greatly appreciated! I will follow up with my email address (which you most likely have already).

Woo hoo!!! That Otto is a sweet looking piece of gear-and it makes coffee, too. My favorite combination: art that is functional and also mechanical.
