Hello all -
This is my first post here so I hope I'm not breaking any rules.
I have a very dependable, very loyal Rancilio Silvia that I use twice a day during the week and 3 times a day on Saturday and Sunday. I'm very serious about my espresso! I have fixed various minor issues over the years with her and now we've run into another HOPEFULLY minor one and hope I can gain some insight here. I pull a shot this afternoon, all was fine. My husband just pulled my evening shot and it was not pretty. She was making a horrible noise and it took forever for the coffee to flow. I ran water thru the filter after and was not getting anything but a trickle of flow. Hoses are intact, water tank is full. I can't see anything "wrong" on the outside. She probably could use a good cleaning (hard water), but other than that does anyone have any ideas??? Thanks in advance. We roast our own and of course, grind our own beans. This truly is the best machine out there!
Thanks for your reply. I just spent the last hour cleaning her. I use Cleancaf and flushed her through several times. It definitely seems better, but I think I may have to adjust the pressure a bit. I'll run a few cycles to see if I need to do that.
You are quite correct. Shamefully, I had not cleaned her in a while.....
