I am looking for a new semi-auto espresso maker. I primarily drink lattés and cappuccinos. I figure my maximum budget is about Can$950.00 or there about.

My current machine is a Starbucks Barista which has served me well for the last six years. I found my lattés were better than Starbucks but I know that might not be saying much. Before that a Krup and before that ...

I guess I will need a new grinder and it will be used just for espresso. Hence, the total price would be higher if I include the grinder. Is the Rancillo Rocky still one of the best for the price? Or the LeLit PL53 grinder? Or ...

How much time/effort do I want to spend on learning barista skills? This is not an issue since if means a better shot it is worth the time. However, I do not want to take an hour to make one coffee. I figure I make around 6 to 8 coffees per week.

I live in Edmonton Alberta and wonder should I buy from Espressotec or somewhere local? Of course, is the somewhere local?

I am looking for a decent machine. I will be in Richmond in late November for a conference but I won't have a lot of time to run around Vancouver.
