Nuova Simonelli Oscar trouble was created by VanillaLattez
I just bought a Nuova Simonelli Oscar machine from someone that I found through Craigslist. I am a college student and don't know anything about coffee machines. The espresso that my new machine makes is extremely week and the lattes are very watery. My dad owns a different espresso machine, so I know how to make a good latte. How should I fix the machine/what should I look for?

Thanks!

Courtney

So, first question:
Is it the grind of coffee (fine espresso grind) or is it the pressure of the machine (the pump)?

I don't want to sound mean here, but maybe you don't know how to make a good latte. Maybe you only know how to make a good latte on your dad's machine. They all have their idiosyncrasies and you just might need to learn yours. Did you get and read the instruction manual? If so, it should have walked you through what is known as "dialing in" the machine: getting the pressure, temperature, grind and volume of water in the correct proportion and relationship. Try a web search for that first and then come back with some more detail and some specifics.
