I liked #4 and #5. #4 because that really has a "how coffee change my life" feel to it. #5 because it struck a chord with me and I could tell the OTTO would find a loving home there. Now having to choose between those two would have been a toughie for me for sure, although I admit I did make a choice between the two.
Cheers, Guy

Brace yourself for a new contest -- with some new rules and an amalgam of ideas from our readers!
-Voting AND Judging
-No social networking (as best as we can filter)
-Stories will not have the authors name attached to it.
Prize: A KBT-741 Technivorm coffee brewer with thermal carafe.
Start thinking about your possible stories folks - the theme will be announced by this weekend.
If you thought the OTTO contest was loaded with stress and excitement... you better renew your blood pressure meds!

That would be cruel and inhuman
I'm in.

Need a topic first though. Then a pot of coffee, or several.
Just finished perusing through clean, hot, dry ... did you try those syphon coffee places yet?
Cheers, Guy

I have held off saying much, but I am glad to see that most of you have many of the same feelings as I do regarding the voting process and which story was your favorite. Mine was no.10 also. Great story. Touched my heart.
While the OTTO is definetely a sexy machine, like one of the recent posts, I have also been looking into the balancing syphon method of brewing. Very cool!! A great conversation piece and fun way to brew a batch while also entertaining around a table. Looking forward to giving one a go. With my background in mechanical maintenance and design, I am always intrigued by how machines function. I am anticipating many hours of research and testing to formalate the best brew possible. Just fun you know (in a coffee geek sort of way), and you get to have coffee too!!

Hi Scott,
Oh man ... I'm glad you're hang'n here. I'm feeling pretty lonely in the Coffee School section. I'm having fun messing around my gear, staying with the stove top stuff to conjure up my brew. The syphon units look really cool. But it scares me. Me and breakable things really do not get along very well. I can't count the number of beakers I broke before getting a steel coffee press.
Anyhoo ... welcome ... hangout ... make coffee ... talk gear ... write stuff.
Cheers, Guy
