7 years too late, but I created silviaschool.com just for fun.. it's a great machine.


That is a great looking website -- and how is it 7 years too late?

I just meant the OP posted the topic 7 years ago, yes I agree the Silvia is still a great machine today.

You hear stories from people who move to a super-automatic and such but come back to the Silvia or other manual machines months later.

My machine is probably 8 years old now, and still produces awesome espresso with no repairs or problems. You can't say that about many small appliances.

Considering that the Silvia is hand made in Italy by (often elderly) Italian artisans -- it lasts a real lifetime -

unlike modern plastic espresso makers which are built to last 1 year, 2 tops.

Economically, it makes way more sense to spend good money NOW so as to not fill a landfill tomorrow.
