ITALY – The Neapolitan infuser/decocter teapot
The filter allows the preparation and serving a cup of infusion or decoction, only using the elegant Inox Neapolitan coffee pot, (without resorting to pots, covers and strainers.)
The filter for infusions and decoctions with the Neapolitan coffee pot is simple to use: Put the cut herbs in the small basket at the one end of the tubular filter.
To prepare an infusion, insert the entire filter into the Neapolitan coffee pot so that the herbs remain at the top, i.e., they are not immersed in the water.
Remove from the heat, turn the infuser/decocter upside down and the boiling water will cover the herbs. Wait for the time it takes to infuse and serve by pouring with the Neapolitan coffee pot.
It is better than using a coffee plunger or french press and very good for roasted barley tea.
For a decoction the filter is placed at the opposite end so that the herbs remain immersed in the water while it is simmered on a low heat for the required length of time.
To serve, simply turn it upside down. For Italian companies Ilsa, Stella and Martinazzi make the filter in stainless steel to add to their Neapolitan coffee maker.

The Neapolitan infuser/decocter teapot is inspired by a way of making coffee widespread in Europe and North America. It is ideal for preparing and serving barley, tea and herbal tea (loose or wafer) to run a real infusion (or decoction) for the desired time and without using pans, lids, strainers or other vessels.
We recommend you thoroughly wash the filter to remove any residual flavor of coffee or use as a coffee and a Neapolitan infuser/decocter teapot as infuser / decocter.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Put the ground coffee is not too fine or herbal tea in the basket cut screw placed at one end of the tubular filter.
To get an infusion put the entire filter in a kettle of Neapolitan infuser/decocter teapot so that the basket remains high, that is not immersed in water. Bring to boil, remove from heat and flip: the water to a boil cover the contents of the basket. Wait for the infusion time and serve with pouring pitcher.
For a decoction place the filter on the contrary, ie so that the basket screw remains immersed in water during the boil over low heat for as long as necessary, then invert to serve.
Wash the various parts of the Neapolitan infuser/decocter teapot under running water and dry thoroughly.
You should not use detergents to avoid altering the flavor of the preparations.
