Breville 800ESXL or Saeco Aroma ? was created by lanstrad
I am presently on a procrastination mode between the Breville 800ESXL or Saeco Aroma (while re-thinking as well about Via Veneto and even the Breville Roma (ESP8XL).

Read about a reply here that a Breville exploded after 3 months... Which one was that ? (One of the reasons I have waited about 5-6 years for buying an espresso machine was a similar story I had heard then. Don't know which brand it was though).

I am concerned with the practical side: the Saeco seem to be filled on the back, the Breville on the front (good thing, as this 40 lbs monster would need to be pulled from under the cabinet every morning, but the Saeco is less than 20 pounds).

This would be my first machine and hopefully for many, many years: I wish to make a good choice.

Any insights ?

Thanks :-)
Rob

Yes - my insight.

Avoid anything made by Breville.

Not a lot of numbers at work there --

3 issues. 2 resolved.

When you look at it that way; Ford, Chevy, Saturn and virtually every American car Mfgr would fall under the unsatisfactory rating.

Saeco does not compare to Breville.

Saeco is right up there with Gaggia as far as semi-auto and manual machines are concerned.

Breville is down there with Krups and Delonghi... Delonghi: Arguably the crappiest kitchen appliances ever made - IN MY HONEST OPINION...
